No Failure Evident (NFE) Evaluation and Re-certification

Typically, QED/inc. cockpit accelerometers should be tested for proper function and calibration after 500 flight hours, if needed. NFEoption will perform an evaluation and issue a test report with the results according to QED/inc. protocol. This option provides calibration, cleaning, and re-certification of the instruments with a 90 day warranty.

Repair, Clean and Re-certify (Standard Overhaul)

Repair, clean and re-certify option will repair your instrument using QED/inc. certified components. This service will restore your accelerometer’s complete performance with a re-certification and a 6 month warranty.

Complete Overhaul

This will provide customers with the option to make their instruments “like new”. This option offers customers an opportunity to restore their cockpit accelerometer to its original condition. Rebuilding the accelerometer will replace all major operating components ensuring“like new” behavior. This option will re-establish calibration, recertify the unit, and guarantee a 1 year warranty.

COMMON ACCELEROMETER REPAIR/OVERHAUL INDICATIONS

MECHANICAL ACCELEROMETER

  • Unit out of calibration. Different accelerometer and HUD reading.
(Accepted tolerance for g-readings is .25 g’s on mechanical accelerometers.)
  • Minimum and Maximum Pointer does not stay at the applied min/max g-force.
  • Min/Max Pointer/Pointers stuck at g-reading.
  • Accelerometer lighting failure.
  • Push-to-set exceeds 8-lbf (2.5-8lbf per ATP100750).
  • Unit struggles to read g-force after 7 seconds. (Positive/Negative g-forces)
  • Main Pointer will not fully return to zero g after applied g-force.
  • Pointers (Min/Max or Main) will not fully reset to zero.
  • Broken push-to-set Bellows and Shaft Assembly.
